The Game Skills Sessions.
Mission Statement:
Hockey Fundamentals are based on your skill sets. Skills are tools of a hockey player and it is really important to know how to use your tools in relation to your job at hand. Our goal is to teach skills that are required to become coachable, well rounded, intelligent, hard working hockey players. Throughout our sessions we focus on team play and remind our students the importance to work as units and not as individuals. Our approach will not only make everyone better hockey players and teammates, it will also provide skills that everyone will be able to use in life beyond the game hockey.
Available Sessions.

Fundamentals:
Days: Mondays 2pm, Saturdays 6:30pm
Our `Fundamentals` session focuses on the basic skill sets every hockey player needs to work on a regular bases throughout the season. In those session our primary focus is to achieve improvement in skating ability, stick handling skills, and to improve your vision of the ice. Our goal of improving your `Fundamentals` is to have those three attributes (skating, stick work, vision) functioning independently at the same time.

Defensive Skill sessions:
Days: Tuesdays 2pm
Recommended to any position player. Regardless if you are forward or a defensemen, this session will focus on the skill of efficient puck retrieval. Sessions will include general topics of steering and angling, forechecking skills, and all the way up to position focused 1v1, position player angling, ice management, limiting time and space.

Offensive Skill sessions:
Days: Wednesdays 2pm
These sessions will focus on improving your individual skills in generating offense. Not only will we work on improving your individual goal scoring skills we will also improve your ability to generate assists and the ability to generate scoring chances for your teammates.

Shooting sessions:
Days: Thursdays 2pm
Even though players are encouraged to shoot at home in the driveway, this session in our opinion is extremely beneficial to translate your skills aquired with at home repetition to the natural surface the game is played on.
On ice we will focus on shooting in stride, cover all shot variations, work on quick release while skating and/or under pressure. Learn how to recognize and take advantage of "screens". We will provide feedback on techniques, fine tune mechanics and provide players with tips through repetition to increase their scoring abilities.

Power Skating sessions:
Days: Fridays 2pm
Our power skates focus on playing the game of hockey in "overspeed". Attending our power skates will push all skaters beyond their comfort zone. Reduce the transition time from power starts to cross-overs, transitions, stops and starts. Win foot races at any situation in the game, become the most explosvive skater on your team.
Summary:
To break down an individual hockey player coaches look for 5 individual skills in a player. Skating, Stick Handling, Passing, Shooting and Body Contact. We believe our variety of sessions include those skills and allow anyone to achieve their goals on improving their game.
